Chaperones

The club needs a minimum of two chaperones for each bus, and a minimum of one driver. We cannot run trips without chaperones, so please be sure to notify the club ASAP if you can't chaperone a trip. Please provide plenty of notice so that we have time to find a replacement.

Your duties are to be flexible and intuitive. Chaperones are not required to ski. If you do want to ski, the Club will reimburse you for the cost of the lift ticket, but not rentals. Read the following information below before signing up as a chaperone.

Briefing

  • Chaperones have to be 21 or older with a valid drivers license.
  • If you are a driver, your vehicle must have valid insurance and have space for one person and their gear.
  • Chaperones should be at the Einstein High School bus loop before 2:00 pm.
  • You may bring additional people if you are driving, but keep in mind that you may need to drive to the hospital if a club member is injured.

Duties on the Bus and at the Mountain

  • The bus leader must take attendance as kids get on the bus and verify that all kids are on the bus before departure from the mountain.
  • Assist younger club members in the rental area.
  • Check first aid at some point during the night - Tell them you are with the Kensington Youth Ski Club and you are just checking in.
  • Be prepared to drive to the hospital if you are a driver.

Sign-Up

  • Chaperone sign ups will be available after membership registration is complete.
